WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS CONFERENCE THEME?
Migration and movement is not only about crossing man-made borders, but also moving space to space and how your body adjusts to that navigation.
The conference will touch on what is brought along in the journey, who has the privilege of a safe journey, how this manifests in the United States among different classes and communities, and the effects migration and movement on experiences everywhere.
Are you ready to celebrate progress and push forward?
At this annual event, students, student organizations, faculty, staff, alumni, and Chicagoans gather on Loyola's campus to celebrate progress from feminist movements & push forward towards equity for everyone.
A series of empowering and informative workshops celebrate women from all walks of life while inspiring participants to eradicate inequalities which still exist. Each year a different theme is chosen to study although the power and import of race, religion, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, age, ability, occupation, citizenship, and other intersectional identities as they relate to not just women's, but all peoples' opportunities to thrive is always at the front of our conscience.
Through analysis of women's multivariate lives and experiences, the annual Women's Day conference highlights the ways our diverse identities intersect our our subsequent responsibility to stand with one another in solidarity.
